As world leaders gathered in New York and adopted the eagerly anticipated United Nations’ Pact of the Future and the Global Digital Compact, there is no better time to spotlight women’s digital participation.
Meaningful connectivity is the cornerstone of having internet access that unlocks digital possibilities and opportunities. As technology and society evolve, it’s crucial that we ensure no one is left behind.
The past years have made it clear that meaningful connectivity is now a basic requirement for all. Yet, too many women, too many of the world’s impoverished, and too many people living in rural communities remain unconnected, underconnected, and left behind.
Join Global Digital Inclusion Partnership (GDIP) on 2 October at ICEGOV 2024 for a roundtable session on our report Connected Resilience.
Without affordable devices, we will never reach our goals of scalable digital economies and sustainable digital transformation.
The program will advance scholarship, research, and policy leadership to address pressing issues in achieving universal meaningful connectivity and inclusive digital societies.
GDIP will host a workshop on “Connected Resilience: Gendered Experiences of Meaningful Connectivity” on 20 August 2024.
Reflecting on the perspectives and conversations surrounding women’s digital exclusion, we look ahead with optimism and a renewed sense of direction on the key areas and actions needed to close the gender digital divide.
