Sustainable Internet Access

Almost half of the world is still not connected to the internet. We require broadband policy that can connect the next generation of internet users and provide them with meaningful connectivity — all while limiting the carbon footprint and climate impact of internet infrastructure and use.

It is past time for broadband policy to consider the environment. There is a huge opportunity to change the policies, regulations, and business practices that will guide the construction, operation, and use of new infrastructure.
