Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u

Senior Research Manager

Nyambura is a Senior Research Manager at Global Digital Inclusion Partnership (GDIP). She is an experienced Researcher and an international digital policy and innovation expert. Until June 2023, she was the senior Internet Governance Expert on the Policy and Regulation Initiative of Digital Africa (PRIDA), A project of the African Union Commission where among other strategic focuses, she coordinated the development of a contextualized Internet Governance course that has been used to run more than 30 Schools of Internet Governance across the continent. She is a member of the Policy Network on Meaningful Access, a Multi-stakeholder Working Group of the Global IGF and participated in the 2022 Internet Governance Forum Expert Group Meeting.

Nyambura is a founding member and co-executive director of the Network of African Women in Cybersecurity (NAWC). She is a Research Associate at Research ICT Africa and a member of the Editorial Board of the Londa – the state of digital rights and inclusion in Africa Report.  

Nyambura has played a strategic role in Kenya’s digital space as one of the consultants that developed the Kenya national digital masterplan 2022-2032 and its predecessor as well as the WorldBank’s Kenya Digital Economy Assessment report. She served as a member of Communications and Multimedia Appeals Tribunal (CAMAT), a dispute resolution tribunal in the multimedia and telecommunication sector in Kenya.  

Nyambura holds a PhD in computer science and an MBA from the University of Nairobi. She did her Postdoctoral Fellowship at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), in Pretoria, South Africa where she also supervised MBA projects.
