Senior Communications Manager
Jessica is the Senior Communications Manager at the Global Digital Inclusion Partnership (GDIP), supporting the Women in the Digital Economy Fund (WiDEF). Jessica is a seasoned marketing and communications professional with over five years of experience working at the intersection of gender, climate, technology, economic, and social justice.
Before joining GDIP, she led the marketing and communications for the UK government’s largest climate-focused programmes, including the £1 billion Ayrton Fund. Over the past five years, she has worked internationally with various governments, NGOs, DFIs, and MDBs in her roles with the GSMA Foundation, Shell Foundation, and the Carbon Trust on climate and technology-related initiatives geared towards meeting the Sustainable Development Goals.
She also played a lead role in the ‘DigSMART’ pilot programme, which provided digital skills training to policymakers in Ghana, Senegal, and Malawi, and led a successful ‘Digital Leadership’ session at the Rwanda Masterclass to mark the closing of a successful multinational pilot.
She has conducted research and proposed policy recommendations to the Government of Jamaica on e-governance and the introduction of digital courses across the national curriculum. She also hosted a podcast series with senior development and impact finance stakeholders.
Jessica holds an undergraduate degree in International Politics and Sociology from the City University of London and a Master of Science in Sustainable Development Studies from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. More recently, she gained qualifications in creative copywriting from the University of the Arts London and was awarded a Distinction in The Economist Professional Communication Business Writing and Storytelling Course.
