Connectivity in the Asia Pacific region has been steadily improving over the years. However, these advancements have not reached everyone equally, especially women and girls, and rural and marginalized population groups.
The past years have made it clear that meaningful connectivity is now a basic requirement for all. Yet, too many women, too many of the world’s impoverished, and too many people living in rural communities remain unconnected, underconnected, and left behind.
While the Asia Pacific region boasts the world’s largest internet user base, with over half of the global users, the disparities in internet access are stark.
